Within this programme, you will learn all of the fundamental skills that are needed to start your journey to an exciting career.

You will be hands-on from the start working in both our commercial and training salon.

You will be studying a variety of units that will provide you with the knowledge and skills to develop our techniques.

Client Care and Communication

Develop strong listening and communication skills to help you meet client needs and provide great service during their visit.

Promote Products and Services

Learn how to upsell the right products and understand the impact retailing and rebooking can have on your income.


Apply and Maintain Nail Enhancements

Master the techniques for creating well-balanced nail extensions that leave your client’s nails looking flawless.

Photographic Makeup Artistry

Explore the basics of makeup application and develop creative editorial looks inspired by commercial, fantasy and historical trends.

Create an Image

Build your professional portfolio by designing competition and editorial looks that showcase the latest in nail art and makeup. You’ll also explore how to grow your reach on social media.

Salon Reception

Understand the key role of the salon receptionist, including how to take messages, book appointments and deliver excellent customer service.

Manicure

Learn how to provide a high-quality manicure that treats and enhances the appearance of your client’s hands.

Pedicure

Discover the techniques for delivering a relaxing, professional pedicure service.

Provide Nail Art

Get creative with exciting nail art designs using various techniques and tools.

You’ll also cover essential health and safety, with a mix of theory and practical sessions to make sure you’re confident and work-ready.

In order to be successful on this course you must have one of the following:

  • 3 GCSEs at grades 9-3 (A*-D), including English, maths, and one additional subject
  • a level 1 qualification in a related subject area.

You’ll be assessed through practical observations, where your assessor will watch you apply your techniques. You’ll also create a digital portfolio to document your progress and complete online multiple-choice exams.
